How Semen Retention Affects Hair Growth and Balding (Masturbation and Hair Loss)

There is an ongoing online debate among retainers on whether semen retention benefits hair growth and prevents balding. Some retainers claim that semen retention helped their hair grow back, others claim that it only reduces the speed of balding or hair loss, and others reveal that it does not affect hair growth.

When a large number of retainers report noticing a connection between semen retention and the condition of their hair, it suggests that the topic deserves deeper examination. Instead of rejecting their observation outright, it is more reasonable to explore it to determine whether there may be some truth behind it. This is how true wisdom on any subject is developed. It comes from investigating claims with an open and critical mind rather than dismissing them without inquiry.

What makes me agree that there is a relationship, even if slight, between semen retention and hair growth is my experience with masturbation and hair loss. Although I believe my balding is genetic, it came all of a sudden when I was masturbating excessively. I had never had any signs of hair loss, but I suddenly experienced hair loss on one spot of my head when I was fapping constantly. When I later retained my seed for 18 months, I noticed that the rate at which I lost hair on that spot greatly reduced. Surprisingly, when I relapsed and went back to fapping and sexual activity, I continued to experience hair loss, but at a faster rate.

I then researched what retainers say about the relationship between masturbation and hair loss, and I found that most of them have experienced accelerated hair loss when fapping daily. Some of the retainers firmly believe that their hair loss is caused by masturbation because their family members are not bald, even in their old age.

I then tried to find scientific information from scholars or credible authors about the relationship between masturbation and hair loss, and I stumbled upon this information from Joseph Peterson’s book, Semen Retention Miracle. Joseph Peterson writes,

“Semen contains a protein called Keratin. It’s the same protein found in your fingernails and hair, and it’s essential for their health. It keeps your hair smoother and easier to manage. A decrease in the Keratin in your body is associated with hair loss, roughness, dryness and thin hair. Excessive masturbating causes you to lose that valuable Keratin, and without Keratin, your hair becomes thin and brittle. Additionally, too much self-pleasuring can dry out your scalp and make your head feel itchy because of the lack of Keratin. When you practice semen retention, you find that your hair becomes thicker, more lush and your scalp feels better”.

Basically, what Joseph Peterson is saying is that excessive masturbation causes hair loss or balding by ensuring the loss of Keratin

If you study Keratin, you’ll find that Joseph Peterson’s information is sensible. Keratin is a fibrous protein that acts as the primary building block for hair. It is a critical structural component in hair that helps maintain hair health. Its presence results in stronger and shinier hair.

If you research further, you’ll find that semen contains Keratin, which helps shape the sperm nucleus and is highly important for the development of sperm cells.

It, therefore, makes sense that excessive masturbation ensures hair loss or balding by depleting nutrients important to hair health.

It is then arguable that semen retention promotes hair growth and reduces the rate of balding by ensuring that large amounts of Keratin are available for hair growth.

By the way, semen is also rich in zinc, magnesium, and calcium, which are highly important to hair growth. Calcium is crucial for hair growth as it helps in Keratin production and supports cell-division within hair follicles. Magnesium prevents calcium from accumulating on the scalp and blocking hair follicles. Zinc strengthens the hair fiber and promotes hair growth.

This means that when you ejaculate frequently you accelerate hair loss or the balding process by reducing the minerals that the body needs to support hair growth. It also means that semen retention promotes hair growth by ensuring that there is an adequate supply of the necessary minerals crucial to the process of hair growth and formation.

Nevertheless, even though it is clear that semen retention affects hair growth, it cannot help those with the baldness gene. It will only reduce the rate at which balding occurs.

However, for people who experience hair loss solely due to excessive masturbation, semen retention will help their hair grow back.

And for those men who are afraid of balding, stop worrying. If you are genetically predisposed to baldness, it will happen whether you practice semen retention or not. It may happen at a slower rate, but you will still go bald. You have two options: you can either get a hair transplant or learn to accept that baldness will become part of you in the future.

You might resent balding or hair loss, fearing that it will affect your appearance. Yes, it will. But when it happens, you will get used to it, and eventually, you will reach a point where you don’t care. You will also find that some women will still be attracted to you despite the fact that you are bald, and you will eventually discover that the people who truly love you do not care about your hair loss.

It’s only you who cares.
